The Skill Shelf

Your skills live in your organization's GitHub. Three are on the shelf; one is waiting for review.

Beside the skills: one plugin is on the shelf, and one MCP connection is waiting for review.

Who may publish
Anyone in the organization may offer a skill; a leader publishes it, and one reviewer approves before it lands.
What is blocked
Program files, any file over 1 MB or folder over 5 MB, and anything that looks like a password or key.
Yours, readable anywhere
Every skill is a folder with SKILL.md — any agent can read it without Aristo.

Skills and Skill Recorder

Three ways in — prompted, adapted, or recorded — and one governed skill lifecycle. Member-made skills stay in maker review until a leader publishes them.

Shelf home

Your organization's own GitHub holds the files; Aristo holds the index and the receipts.

Who may publish

Leaders and sponsors. A member asks, and a leader approves — the same two pairs of eyes as before.

A skill has its own governance path

Skills are reusable instructions, not agent packages, so they do not enter the Agent Forge promotion board.

Skill historySkills taken off the shelf
1 · Record or build

The maker creates one portable SKILL.md.

2 · Score and review

The safety sweep and quality rubric run before saving.

3 · Leader publishes

A member copy stays private until its maker asks and a leader approves.

4 · Reuse and measure

Downloads and confirmed OneDrive pushes are counted.

1 in maker review · 5 offered to the organization. A leader can withdraw an organization skill to stop new shelf access; copies already downloaded or placed in OneDrive cannot be recalled.

Bring a recorded skill

In a connected tenant, a signed-in leader can paste or upload the recorder's SKILL.md here. This illustrative scenario is read-only, so it shows the governed shelf without offering a write that would pretend to work.

How recording and privacy work

The recording happens on your own machine — the recorder captures your screen locally.

Its Analyze step is the part to know about: that one sends screen frames, window titles and URLs, and your spoken narration to GitHub’s cloud to turn the demonstration into a skill.

So never record credentials, secrets, or a screen with tenant-sensitive data on it. Record the job, not the sign-in.

Aristo never receives or stores a recording. The only thing that reaches us is the finished SKILL.md you choose to bring — that is true by architecture, not by policy.

There are no per-person rows here. Maker cohorts remain subject to the 5-person privacy floor, and a skill is never called “used” merely because it exists.
